Labs and Tools

Our laboratories offer unique opportunities to conduct innovative psychological research projects using state-of-the-art technology. Each room is equipped with a 360° camera system and a set of various sensors to digitally record nuanced behavioral data.

Persons in Extended Realities Lab (PERL)

In the Persons in Extended Realities Lab (PERL), parameters of the environments with which test subjects interact can be freely manipulated and quantified. To map person-environment relations and capture fluctuations in experience and behavior, subjects can immerse themselves in stimuli (2D, 3D, 360° images, and videos) or entire virtual worlds using extended reality (XR) headsets.

Assessment Lab for Person Sensing (ALPS)

In the Assessment Lab for Person Sensing (ALPS), various variables can be recorded using sensors for individuals, dyads, or groups in natural interactions with a high degree of experimental control over the settings. A highlight here is the permanently installed sensor floor, which enables the smooth recording of movement and gait behavior.
